Airport Beijing Capital International Airport is located to the North East of the city.  Buses run to and from the city centre (cost around 16 RMB) and taxis are available (approximately 70-80 RMB to the downtown area).  There is a rail link being constructed, but this is not yet completed.
Climate Beijing can be extremely hot during the summer with temperatures reaching 40 degrees celcius in July and August.

On the other hand, the winters can be bitterly cold, especially with the strong winds that often pass through the city.  Winter officially starts on November 15th and goes through to March 15th the following year, during which time, most of the buildings will be heated centrally.  January and February are usually the coldest months.

The other important fact that sometimes surprises visitors is the dryness in Beijing, especially during the winter.  Bring lots of moisturiser!
